General information
The proposal will appear in the taxpayer’s online or mobile bank for 30 days. If accepted, future e-invoices will cover real estate tax, prepayments, back taxes, inheritance tax, and gift tax.
The measure supports Finland’s digital-first approach, reduces reliance on paper mail, and helps taxpayers avoid missed deadlines and late-payment interest. Late-payment interest starts from the day after the due date; this year, the rate is 4.5% for inheritance tax and 9.5% for other taxes.
Taxpayers who do not receive a proposal can still request e-invoicing through their e-bank or MyTax. Those who do not use online banking may consider direct debit as an alternative.
If a taxpayer receives the proposal but does not accept it, the Tax Administration may send reminders through MyTax, Suomi.fi Messages, or SMS. Official Suomi.fi Messages and Tax Administration SMS messages never contain links.
