General information
Brazil’s NFS-e Management Committee has warned municipalities that have not completed enrollment in the National NFS-e System to regularize their status, as non-compliance may affect their integration into the new IBS and CBS tax model.
The Committee also issued Technical Note No. 008/2026, creating a national standard for DANFSe, the graphical representation of the electronic service invoice. The standard defines layout, mandatory fields, printing rules, and information structure.
Brazil is also updating the NFS-e layout to support tax reform, including new IBS and CBS fields, debit and credit notes, and improvements for Simples Nacional taxpayers. Companies operating in Brazil will need to update ERP, invoicing, and compliance systems to meet the new NFS-e and DANFSe requirements.
