Uruguay’s Tax Authority (DGI) has updated its Frequently Asked Questions on Electronic Fiscal Receipts (CFE) as of July 2026.
The guidance provides practical information for taxpayers, authorized electronic issuers and software providers on how to issue, send, verify, print, store and report electronic fiscal documents through Uruguay’s electronic fiscal document system.
Separately, the Tax Authority confirmed that electronic fiscal document (CFE) format version 25.2 became available in the production environment on June 30, 2026. From that date, the Tax Authority also began applying the new validation rules introduced in versions 25, 25.1 and 25.2 for reference information and fiscal supplement fields.
Businesses and software providers operating under Uruguay’s electronic fiscal documents regime should review the updated FAQ and ensure their systems support the latest format and validation requirements.
