North Macedonia’s Tax Authority (Public Revenue Office) has started the second test phase of the e-Invoice system.
This phase is aimed mainly at software providers and companies that use their own invoicing software. They are encouraged to test API connections and prepare their systems before mandatory implementation begins.
The second phase allows testing of additional functions, including downloading, accepting, rejecting and reversing e-Invoices through the API.
The Public Revenue Office has also expanded the list of tax indicators used for testing. These indicators help determine the correct VAT treatment, such as standard or reduced VAT rate, VAT exemption, non-taxable transactions, or reverse charge.
In the first phase, 390 companies accessed the system, 781 users were authorized, and 89 companies successfully integrated and submitted e-Invoices via API.
North Macedonia is expanding e-Invoice testing. Companies and software providers should actively test API functions now to avoid problems when the system becomes operational.
