The National Revenue Agency (NRA) has begun large-scale inspections along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast for the summer season. The campaign is designed to ensure businesses comply with tax and social security regulations, while also preventing unjustified price increases for goods and services.

Hundreds of tourist sites, markets, and seasonal businesses will be checked daily. Inspectors will make control purchases to verify that receipts are issued for every sale. Officers will monitor sales at busy sites and compare them with reported turnover. Special attention will be paid to employment contracts and compliance with social security rules.

The NRA reminds customers that they are not required to pay until they receive a valid receipt. If a merchant refuses or issues a false receipt, citizens can report it via the NRA Information Center at 0700 18 700 or by email at infocenter@nra.bg. Shoppers can also verify receipts using the free NRA Mobile app, which scans QR codes on fiscal receipts to confirm authenticity.
