General information
The Tax Authority (Public Revenue Office) has launched the third phase of its e-Invoice project, marking another step toward the future implementation of mandatory electronic invoicing. The new phase introduces a web-based testing application that allows businesses of all sizes to simulate the creation, exchange, acceptance, rejection, and cancellation of electronic invoices in a practical test environment.
The first phase of the project focused on integrating companies' ERP systems with the e-Invoice platform. In the second phase, the Tax Authority expanded the system by introducing API services for downloading, accepting, rejecting, and reversing e-invoices, while also enabling testing of multiple tax indicators. These updates required businesses to adapt their systems to revised technical specifications.
With the launch of the third phase, companies can now access a user-friendly web application without needing advanced technical integrations. The platform supports testing of standard invoices and 12 different tax indicators, making it easier for businesses to familiarize themselves with the future e-Invoice process and prepare for implementation.
To support structured testing, the Tax Authority has partnered with around 200 selected companies that will work closely with designated tax officials to test specific scenarios and provide feedback on system performance and functionality. The Tax Authority is also continuing its outreach efforts, having already organized approximately 30 educational sessions with chambers of commerce and business associations.
The launch of the web application represents an important milestone in North Macedonia’s e-Invoice project, broadening access to testing and helping businesses gradually prepare for the transition to electronic invoicing.
